Cuddly Bear Early Learning Centre - Templestowe is a Breastfeeding Friendly Centre

Being a “Breastfeeding Friendly Centre” means that Cuddly Bear Templestowe actively supports and welcomes breastfeeding families within our early learning community. This includes:

  • Providing a warm, comfortable and private space for mothers to breastfeed or express milk if they wish while at our centre
  • Supporting families who provide expressed breastmilk for their child during the day
  • Following safe storage, handling and preparation procedures for breastmilk
  • Supporting each family’s individual feeding routines and preferences
  • Creating a welcoming, inclusive and respectful environment for breastfeeding mothers and families
  • Working closely with families during transitions into care to help support feeding routines and emotional wellbeing for both children and parents

As part of our nurturing and homely environment, we understand that every family’s feeding journey is unique, and we are committed to supporting families throughout this important stage of their child’s early years.

How will my infant or  young child be given my expressed breastmilk?

It is important to make a breastfeeding plan with our team to ensure everyone is on the same page. Consider:
How often you will leave expressed breastmilk?
What educators should do if they run out of milk?
Whether you plan to breastfeed at pick-up.

Consider your breastfeeding options

Our educators are trained in safe storage and use of expressed breastmilk.
Your options for breastfeeding include: Dropping off fresh or frozen breastmilk Feeding at drop off or pick up Popping into feed id you are located close by.

Talk about breastfeeding without educators

Our educators are here to support you, no matter what your breastfeeding journey is.

Allow time for your infant or young child to settle in

This can be a big change for both you and your little one. I t will take time to adjust.
